Eastern Painted Turtles (chrysemys picta picta) - Captive Bred 2011 Babies!

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING TURTLES AND TORTOISES WITH SHELLS UNDER FOUR (4) INCHES IN LENGTH

In 1975 a Federal Law was inacted making it illegal to sell a "pet" turtle or tortoise with a shell size of less than 4 inches, except for educational and scientific purposes. 

It is completely legal for a private individual to own a baby turtle so long as you understand owning it is for personal education or scientific purposes. 

This document is universal among lawful companies selling under 4 inch turtles/tortoises. 

These documents are NOT sent or shared with anyone, they are simply filed away for our records as required by this law.

    These baby turtles were active from the second I placed into their tank. I bought a couple last year from turtlesource that died within 2 weeks. Thank you for sending me a perfect pair, I will buy from you again next year.

    We have hundreds of just Easterns and thousands of other baby turtles - 100% captive bred there is no reason for a Vet to waste their time examining these guys as they are NOT captured in the wild. If you would like Dr. Bill to examine and issue a State Certified Health Certificate that will be $49.00. Honestly I dont know where you are getting all your concerns? Have you had a bad experience with another company or something? I mean your first comment to us was you dont want "B" grade turtles, really? Who would ship b grade turtles to someone? If you've done your homework and checked out Florida Herps I would think you would understand just how good of a company we are, you will NOT find 1 single bad thing about our company anywhere.

    Let me know if you want the Vet. to check out your turtle before we ship.

    This is our first turtle, our first buy from the internet store, not from a pet store. The homework I have done showed some internet store sale "B" grade turtles. I asked all this question because I am new to the pet buy business over the internet. I am looking to save money not loss money. I would like to receive the most healthiest Eastern Painted Turtle.

    I understand. And any "Pet Store" that is selling under 4" turtles or tortoises is comitting a Federal Felony! We just had a small ma and pa pet shop in Naples get raided for doing that. I am glad you did your homework, there are some good websites that review all of us, and formus where people post problems with reptile companies. www.FaunaClassifieds.com has the BIO or Board of Inquiry, and there is an independant firm that rated reptile companies last year: www.ReptileRetailerReviews.com and there is always the Better Busniess Bureau. But honestly the places I find "B" grade animals being sold are classified sites - those are mostly locally caught animals being sold be kids.

    We will ship your turtle on Monday for delivery first thing Tuesday morning - weather permitting of course.

    Yes. We have earned our "A" grade, we didnt buy it like some. We refuse to pay the BBB $600 for their acreditation "A" as they sell those to anyone. They even gave the terrorist group Hamas an A. If you search google for "BBB Hamas" you'll see what I mean. Please check out our BBB file, we have an A grade, never lost a case - and didnt buy the BBB off to get our grade.

    Everyone starts with a "C" and it goes up or down from there depending on complaints or more to the point the outcome of those cases. We have never been found guilty of doing anything "wrong" nor lost a case - that is all in the report there....so our grade has gone up.

    We could write the BBB a nice $600 check and they would give an "A+" and something they call Acreditation or whatever. Think about for a min. What is the point of an "independant" non-profit organization that you can "buy off"? If you can answer that you are smarter than I. We refuse to buy our grade, instead we have chosen to earn it. We have had 3 complaints from customers since 1996. Not one of them had a case against us and they were dropped - that is how our grade was raised. We need one more complaint to win against and we'll have an "A". Two more and we'll get a nice shiney "A+". It would really mean something if they werent able to be bought off. Honestly I think the BBB is a joke, but we do play along with them and that is why they like us and have given us a favorable grade.

    Go click the link on the BBB report where is says, "What is Acreditation?" and read that silly crap. See whats missing from all that text? The fact that you must PAY FOR IT! In Florida they want $585 PER YEAR. For that we get an A+ and a link to place on our website to make customers feel and warm and fuzzy inside. Once you understand the BBB, its pretty clear that are simply in this for the money - and remember - they are NON-PROFIT!

    We told our local chapter of the BBB (Clearwater, FL) "NO! We will not pay you for our grade." They try to sell this to us every year in July. Did you read about how they sold Terrorist Groups A+ grades? I find them worthless, but like I said, we do cooperate with them. Maybe 20 or 30 years ago the BBB stood for something honest, but today with the power of the internet - I think there are better ways to research a company.

    I did check out the company you work for. I found no BBB report, but did find a website that had 4 reviews - you were given a 3 star rating out of 6 stars, or basically a 50% = F.

    That is 4 pissed of customers out of how many customers total since the company started? I also understand that for the most part only people that are mad take the time to write such things on the internet. So for me personally, I wouldnt hold this against your firm - but I am sure some people would and do. You guys are lucky those 4 didnt file BBB compaints as well. ;)

    Anyways, by Tuesday morning you'll have your new turtle (I will email pictures of YOUR turtle I personally picked out) and the transaction will have gone flawlessly. I hope your son enjoys his new turtle. If you guys have any questions please just ask. We even answer emails at 1:17am!!!
